Mucho Fall Fantastico at Oakwood Gardens

One thing you might not know about me is that I’m also a nature, travel and landscape photographer, which includes a bit of garden photography, and in that world is Oakwood Gardens & Alpaca Farm, where, for the past 3 years, I somehow found myself in the position of being their official garden photographer. This means that I get the ridiculously insanely incredibly borderline-criminal opportunity to photograph their meticulously prepared gardens several times a year. And lucky for me, those several times a year fall across all seasons.

Witnessing and capturing the ever-changing ecological symphony of a garden like this has been one of the joys of this job. The myriad of colors and foliage and interaction between it all is literally never the same, and all wildly beautiful, every single time.

While all the seasons are incredible on the garden grounds, even the dead of winter, fall, without a doubt, is my favorite time to be there. And this year did not disappoint. While I only had a few opportunities to get out and shoot due to unfriendly weather conditions, we did get some moments where the light popped out and the garden popped off!!

They also have some Airbnb units on the property, so make sure the periodically check their site for when those are available. If you’re lucky to get into one of them, it’ll be a stay you’ll never forget (especially if you take advantage of the bucket of alpaca food that comes with each room…feed them floofs, it’s a joy!!)
